APC’s Peanut Butter for the Hungry supports hurricane relief efforts with$10,000 donation

Oct. 2, 2024 (Alexandria, Va.)—The American Peanut Council’s Peanut Butter for the Hungry (PB4H) is stepping up to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene by donating $10,000 to Peanut Proud. The funds will be used to help cover the costs of delivering thousands of jars of nutritious peanut butter to affected communities. This donation is part of a broader effort by Peanut Proud to ensure that food-insecure families have access to a high-quality, shelf-stable protein source during this challenging time.

With these contributions, Peanut Proud is distributing over 99,000 jars of peanut butter to areas hit hardest by the storm, partnering with local food banks and community organizations to make sure the support reaches those in need quickly. Peanut butter has long been recognized as a valuable emergency food because it’s easy to distribute, requires no refrigeration, and provides essential nutrients.

If you’d like to join the cause, there are two ways to contribute. You can make a direct donation to Peanut Butter for the Hungry, helping continue efforts like these to combat food insecurity at home and abroad. Another meaningful way to show your support is by using this specially designated link to purchase the official 2024 White House Christmas Ornament, which honors President Jimmy Carter, a lifelong champion of humanitarian causes. A portion of each ornament purchased through the above site, with the passcode Peanut24, goes directly to PB4H to support initiatives like this one.

Every dollar counts, and with your help, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those affected by natural disasters and food insecurity.

For more information on how to donate or purchase the ornament, visit PB4H.org. Thank you for supporting our efforts to provide aid and hope to those in need!
